Cauwels & Stuve Selected as One of New Mexico Business Weekly's Best Places to Work.
Albuquerque, New Mexico, 11/27/06 - The New Mexico Business Weekly has named Cauwels & Stuve Realty & Development one of the Best Places to Work in New Mexico. The award recognizes the company's achievements in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees.
The Albuquerque-based Cauwels & Stuve was one of 78 companies to enter and among 37 finalists.
The 37 finalists will be featured in a special supplement of the New Mexico Business Weekly on December 8 and at a breakfast event that same day at the Marriott Pyramid North. All finalists will be entitled to use the 2006 Best Places seal in advertising and public relations outreach.
The awards program was launched in August by the Business Weekly with house ads in the paper, notices via our weekly publisher's email and direct outreach to businesses and chambers of commerce around the state.
IInterested companies were asked to go online to the Business Weekly's Web site and fill out a survey form. The companies were broken out into three categories based on the number of New Mexico employees (Small firms had 10 to 50 employees, medium companies had 51 to 200 employees and large firms had more than 200 employees).
All employees of each nominated company were given an opportunity to complete an employee survey, which was developed by Quantum Market Research. The winners were selected based on employee measurement of 40 attributes known to drive employee engagement. The top 10 companies in each category were considered the winners. The Business Weekly will also have a Top 25 list ranked by overall score, regardless of size category.
The employee survey included questions, each given a value of 1 to 6 points, depending on the response checked by the employee - "Strongly Disagree," to "Strongly agree." Questions were broken down into 10 different categories: Team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices. Questions such as "I enjoy doing my work," "I trust and respect my immediate supervisor" and "I know I can depend on the other members of my team," were all evenly weighed in the scoring.
